Kids Cuts Comes From Behind

Written by: Roy Campanella's Ghost

The Kids Cuts kids prevailed over wild and erratic pitching tonight to show the league just what great batters they are. The entire team rose to the occasion and stroked a dozen or more balls into the deep outfield.

Ryan Buck started off the hitting extravaganza with a shot into center, kicking the kids off to a three run first inning. Anthony Digneo added a single with runners on base in the third to bring in two more runs. Colin Koos, Kevin Kennedy, Michael Armbruster, and Austin Charles all had extra base hits, and Travis Lindaberry singled and scored in the fourth. Both Colin White and Brandon Farley advanced to first by being hit by pitches, as well as singling, and Kyle Farley continued to dominate from the left side of the plate.

The boys had some trouble adjusting to the lights in the field, but came up big in the later innings. Brandon Farley showed some great fielding at second base in the last inning, and almost turmed a double play. Jonathan Burkett and Anthony Digneo both made some great defensive plays in left field, holding a big hitting Larchmont team to only one base hits. Luke Cooper seemed to be the only player not effected by the lights and shadows, and held down first base for the Kids Cuts kids in the final innings.

But, the defensive play of the game goes to Ryan Buck, for a clutch catch of a foul tip in the fourth, that took the wind out of Larchmont's sails.

The boys hung tough, didn't complain about the playing conditions or the pitching, played their brand of baseball, and toughed out yet another win.

Tonight's game was so different from the others the boys have had to play that two MVP's have been awarded. Tonight's MVP's are Ryan Buck, for several great at bats and making the play of the game, and to Anthony Digneo for his clutch single that put Kids Cuts in the lead, and several big plays in left field getting the ball in quickly and holding Larchmont to singles in the last two innings.
