MYAA Baseball would like to thank Bill Stoud for his donation of a new American Flag in memory of his father, William Stoud Jr. The flag is currently flying at Hartford Crossing. You'll notice that is much larger than its predecessor. MYAA Baseball would also like to thank the Medford-Vincentown Rotary for their generous donation of a lockable storage cabinet for the Skybox. This cabinet will be used to house our valuable and delicate electronics such as PA amplifiers and scoreboard control units.
Shawnee High School Baseball to honor Danny Hill
Please see the following note from Brian Anderson, Head Baseball Coach, Shawnee High School.
Next Tuesday, May 20, we will be playing a game vs. Millville at Shawnee. We will be honoring our seniors but we our going to honor Danny Hill as well. The pre-game stuff will start around 3:30 - in which we will honor Danny Hill as well as the seniors/parents. Danny's father, Gary, said he will be bringing Danny out to the field. We would love to see as many baseball players there in uniform from Medford. Thanks, Brian Anderson
Summer Baseball Camp
I'm proud to inform you that Brian Anderson and his staff will again be offering Shawnee Renegades Youth Baseball Camp for ballplayers ages 7-High School at Hartford Crossing from Monday, June 30 through Thursday, July 3. Camp will run from 9am to 2:30pm each day. Click here for details and registration information.
Please, don’t forget to patronize our Concession Stand while at Hartford Crossing. In addition to great snack and refreshments, every purchase benefits our program. Also, please be sure to express gratitude to your team’s sponsor(s). Show your support by wearing your shirt to these local establishments and thanking them for their support of MYAA Baseball. This means a lot to our sponsors. You’ll also start noticing window stickers at these establishments. The stickers say “Proud Sponsor (Medford Baseball logo) 2014.” Be sure to acknowledge these stickers and thank the proprietors for their support!
I’m happy to announce two dates of Phillies games for which your ticket purchase will directly benefit MYAA Baseball. Just click here to purchase Phillies tickets to either the Wednesday, June 11th game vs. the Padres or the Tuesday, August 5th game vs. the Astros and the Phillies will donate a portion of your purchase to our program. The June 11th game is Youth Baseball Night at the ballpark and if we have 25 or more players participating, they will be allowed to take place in a pregame parade on the field. There are several ticket options available. We do not have to "pre-buy" the tickets therefore there is not a specific section or area reserved for our program so if you would like to sit with particular friends I recommend that you purchase your tickets together. Please make your purchases ASAP so that we can plan accordingly about the pregame parade on June 11th.
Order pick up
If you were unable to pick up your merchandise on Opening Day or one of the subsequent pick up times, please come to the Concession stand at Hartford Crossing on Sunday, May 18th between 10:30am and 11:00am to get your order. If you are unable to pick up at this time, please send a representative so that we can get all of the merchandise into the proper hands!
The new sod on Field 2 is complete and it looks great. Thanks to Jeff's Personal Touch Landscaping for all if their efforts on this project. Dry conditions and the fact that the sprinkler system was not yet turned on (one of the very few responsibilities of the township) the time for the sod to take was unexpectedly dragged out. I'd like to thank everyone who rescheduled games and practices to allow the necessary time for the sod to take. The locks that were purchased to secure Field 2 during this period have all been moved to secure the right field access gates of Fields 1, 2, and 3. We are currently in the planning stages of the work that will be performed on Shop Rite of Medford Field with Shop Rite of Medford’s generous donation. These improvements will likely begin in the Fall after baseball activity has ended for the season.
MUSCO System Enhancement
We are currently in the process of installing four addition zones to our MUSCO lighting system control. Field 3 had been on the MUSCO Control Link system for a few years with great results. The Control Link system allows us to schedule light usage in accordance with the game/practice schedule. This ability will now apply to Fields 1, 2, Shop Rite of Medford Field and the multi-purpose field. No more throwing breakers for coaches and much more efficient times on and off will result directly in energy saving. Coaches - you'll be receiving communication from your age group commissioners as this process is completed.
Field Care Reminder
Please remember to rake dirt in to puddles, not water out of puddles. In addition to the damage done to Shop Rite of Medford Field, there was similar damage done to both Bob Meyer Field and Field 7. We simply cannot afford for individuals to keep making these mistakes.
Thank you to everyone who continues to make our program great. Your efforts are very much appreciated! It’s been a rain-plagued season (again!) but thanks to the great attitudes of coaches, players and parents, we’re getting through this. As the bulk-emails say at the bottom – MYAA Baseball is YOUR program and it is what YOU make of it. It really shows that our participants are making MYAA Baseball a great program. Thank you!
