MYAA In House Travel Tryouts

All MYAA Baseball parents. The below email was sent out on 3/9/10 and we are hearing from many that they did not receive this email. Please read below and for those of you that have received the email I apologize for the duplication.

Greetings to all! Now that we've turned the corner into March and the snow has almost all melted away, the signs of life and Spring finally seem to want to be seen. Now the grass just needs to turn green with no late storms. No telling when we will be able to get outside and begin playing baseball, however it's time to start planning and begin the process for our 2010 baseball season - in particular the MYAA in-house travel/district teams. This e-mail is intended to reach all those that are currently registered for the 2010 MYAA rec baseball program.
As many are aware the MYAA travel program has gone through some major changes with the formation of the Renegade program and change in MYAA baseball commissioner and board. As a result, this e-mail is intended to briefly explain the program moving forward into 2010. There will also be a document placed on the website that will explain the in-house travel/district program further. All are encouraged to review this.
Simply put, the structure will be the formation of a travel/district team that will begin in April at the onset of the rec program and continue through the end of July in most cases. This will apply for ages 9U through 14U. The 7U and 8U age groups will begin later in May with tryouts in April (info will follow at a later date on them). The teams will be selected through a tryout process, however, this will not be the sole factor considered.
The tryouts will be held on the following days and those interested in trying out will be expected to make the assigned dates. Major exceptions may be considered by the board on an isolated basis, but will need to be truly exceptional conflicts. This policy is intended to make this as fair a process as possible. We expect those trying out to be evaluated with their peers.
9U - March 18th (6:00pm to 7:30pm)
10U - March 24th (7:30pm to 9:00pm)
11U - March 25th (6:00pm to 7:30pm)
12U -March 18th (7:30pm to 9pm)
13U- March 25th (7:30pm to 9pm)
14U- March 25th (7:30pm to 9pm)
The tryouts will be held at the Pinelands Indoor Sports Facility. (3 Coleman Court Southampton, NJ 609-859-2677)
For those interested in head coaching a travel/district team, an application will need to be completed and forwarded back to me (email@example.com) by Sunday March 14th. This application can be found on the MYAA Baseball website. There will be an interviewing process for those interested once the applications are returned.
Currently the plan is to only have one travel/district team per age group for 10U and above. (Under this, the age groups/program were unaffected by the structural changes in the travel program.) We are open to the idea of a second in-house travel team if numbers and constraints allow such. This will not be determined by the board until after tryouts have been conducted.
If your child is interested in trying out for the in-house travel/district team, please send me an e-mail (firstname.lastname@example.org) with your child's first/last name and age group (or grade level) - i.e.) 10U = 4th grade - by Sunday March 14th. The age cutoff date per Cal Ripken rules is April 30th.
