Medford Baseball Recap; Fall League Information

Hi -<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Congratulations to all of the teams that won Medford Baseball championships this week!  The Babe Ruth playoffs are still underway, but all 12 and under leagues have completed their seasons.   The list of the champions is below.

It sounds like we had some great playoff matchups and that all of the kids played well, played hard and had fun!

Other than the rain, I think it was a very successful season for Medford Baseball.  Without the hard work of a lot of people, we would never be able to pull everything off.  I want to thank all of our commissioners, coaches, board members and concession volunteers for a job well done.  Your donation of time, hard work and commitment to the program and the kids is really appreciated!

I also want tot thank all of the parents for their help on the fields, at the concession stand and for their support in general.

Fall Baseball signups are currently underway at

It looks like we will be able to have a <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Medford only league at all ages (other than Babe Ruth), so that is great.  That allows us to control the schedule (more games than the other league) and keep the teams at an equal level of talent so the games are more competitive.

Teams are formed based on the player's grade in the fall - 3rd and 4th graders will play together in one league and 5th and 6th graders will play together in a 50/70 league.  All 7th graders will move up to the full size field and be part of the Babe Ruth program.  1st and 2nd graders will play together in a machine pitch league.

If there is enough interest, we can create a league for K age players with training and coach pitch scrimmages.

Fall is a great opportunity for players moving up to new fields (50/70, 60/90) to get experience in that new game and all leagues provide a lot of fun and training for the players.  All teams will play one weeknight game and one Saturday game in the fall.

Thanks again for everyone's help and cooperation.  Have a fantastic summer!
