Pirates Rally for 6-6 Tie

The Pirates, facing their toughest test of the year, demonstrated their mettle with a gritty two-run rally off one of the league's premiere pitchers on their way to a 6-6 tie Saturday.

Sean L. and Conor keyed the Pirate attack with 3 RBI each and Steve, Jarret and Chris contributed each with a run scored.

The Pirates jumped to an early 3-0 lead but the Cubs came back with a 5 run 3rd inning. Trailing for the first time all season, the Pirates struck back with 3 in the home 4th.

The Pirates received strong pitching from Jarret (2 IP 0 R 5K) and Sean L. (3 IP 1R 6K).

Mike contributed a game saving play defensively at first base, scooping a low throw to end a Cub threat in the 6th.

"I am proud of the way the boys fought back." said the Coach. "We have to feel confident we can beat anyone in this league when we play our kind of game."

Josh was awarded the gameball for his support of the team and as a token of the team's best wishes for his pending surgery.

Coach Jeff, traveling on business, used all his mobile minutes calling for updates and will gladly accept any contributions of unused minutes from the Pirate faithful.

The Pirates (3-0-1) play the Phillies Tuesday night.
