Game #4 vs. Coach Shinske

Saturday afternoon provided a great day for us to play the last game scheduled for the day. We fell to 2-2 on the season with a 7-2 loss, but what was seen in this game was a team of players who battled with their pitching and worked to get the ball over the plate avoiding any costly walks in this game and due to two big hits by the opposing team, provided Coach Shinske and his well coached team the run support needed to win the game on a called game going into the 5th inning due to the league rule of 1:45 minutes per game. If the game is past this point in time, the rule states the previous completed inning will determine the score for the contest overall. With the rule taken into affect, we were gaining great momentum with hits by Luke Austin, Andre Flamini, Ryan Fields, and Christian Esgro. We were hitting against a very hard throwing Cole Broderick in the 4th inning which again shows we hit the hard throwing pitchers in this league! We had a chance in a few innings to get additional run support with men on base, but we did not succeed to add runs when needed in the earlier innings. Ryan Artis showed he can settle down quickly when he was not getting some early calls in the game and pitched a second inning of flawless baseball! Christian Esgro pitched again for one inning only giving up one run and closed with two strikeouts when bases were loaded in the 3rd. Luke Austin closed the fourth inning out with great pitching when we needed it the most. Their team had two big hits that wound up being the difference in this game. That is baseball and I am glad we have a chance to compete in each game with this TEAM ! We are ready to get back on track next Friday against Coach Ross.

Thanks Parents and Players, look forward to next Friday's game!
