9-10 Minor League National's Oakland A's lost a close one on Saturday to the Philles, 12-8. Going into the 6th inning they were all tied up at 8-8, in part due to a great pitching effort by Tyler, Jaymes and Drew.
Pitching was not the only improvement on the A's team, as many players got the bats going early. Mike hit his first triple of the season, scoring two runs in the process. Sam had a 2 RBI single and Curtis came through with another 2 RBI single. Jordan and Michael showed great discipline at the plate.
On the defensive side of the game, there was quite a show. Jaymes had an incredible leaping catch at short. Duncan made a great out at 3rd base in the 6th inning. Brett made a Jimmy Rollins type of stop at short in the 6th. Drew had a phenomenal catch at 1st base from a tough throw from Jaymes and also had a couple of great stops at 1st.
The A's will look to get their first win of the season on Wednesday night when the play Buono at 5:30pm at WaWa field.
