Medford 12Us win two!

Medford American held on for a 6-5 win over New Egypt to close out a great day for Medford Baseball. Medford National started off the day with a 5-2 win over Pemberton.

Medford American led off the bottom of the 1st batting thru the lineup and scoring 5 runs. Dan Kelleher's strong pitching kept Medford ahead 6-1 going into the 4th inning. New Egypt rallied for 4 runs in the top of the fourth. Joey Crespo made a great catching goint away in left field to shut down the rally and hold Medford's led to 6-5. Anthony Papasso came in, in the 5th to shut New Egypt down and preserve the win. A great game was played by all and it was truly a team victory.

In the early game Medford National spotted Pemberton two early runs, but strong pitching by Wes Johnson kept Medford close. Kyle Anderson followed Wes' strong effort with 3 scoreless innings. Medford finally broke lose in the bottom of the 5th inning with a 5 spot. Jeff Cassperson and David Hydock led the effort with big RBI singles opening the flood gates. Anderson shut Pemberton down in the 6th for the victory.

Congratulations to both teams for the very important victory in the 1st game of a double elimination tournament. Medford National takes on Sacred Heart at 1:00pm while Medford American take on Indian Mills which took 7 innings to beat Tabernacle.
