The Diamondbacks played their first play-off game against RSI (Vasturia) on Monday night and it was "The Ultimate Comeback Game" for the D'Backs.
RSI took a big early lead and by the third inning were ahead by a score of 11 to 1. Jarret came in to pitch four innings, allowing only one run to score and striking out 10 batters.
He was backed by first baseman, Brian, who made a great catch of a pop up.
Later in the game, right fielder, Trevor, raced in to make a web jem catch on a hit that most definately would have been a triple if he missed it. The crowd went wild!
The D'Backs started to score as Billy and Reed drew some key walks, Mike had 2 hits and Joey and Jarret each hit 2 doubles and 2 singles. Another great D'Back moment came when Ryan got his very first hit of the year. The crowd, the team and the coaches were so thrilled for him!
After 6 innings of play, the game was tied and so we went into extra
Mike pitched 2 scoreless innings as we entered the bottom of the 8th, with Jarret leading off. Jarret hit one of his two doubles with a shot to right center field and stole third. Now up comes Joey, who was on fire all day. First base coach, DeHart said to Joey, "You're going to knock in the winning run, Joey!" Sure enough, Joey hits a hot grounder between first and second and in comes Jarret to score the winning run, as The "Come Back Kids" do it again. The final score, 12 to 11.
