L&L concrete almost buried AFR in cement with a big first inning, scoring four runs to put AFR down early. AFR got its feet loose from the quickly drying cement to even the score at four in the bottom of the first. Sean Thompson and Dionte Jones pitched three scoreless innings while the AFR bats were silenced during the same period by graet pitching and fielding from L&L.
L&L broke the drought in the top of the fifth scoring two runs and shutting AFR down in the bottom of the inning. James Pschick pitched out of the sixth to set up a dramatic come from behind effort when Alex Crespo legged out a bunt to reach first safely and then proceeded to literally steal a run with great base running. Connor Radenmaker followed up by reaching base and advancing to third with two outs setting up James Pschick who smashed a tywo strike single to left to tie the game.
Pschick pitched flawlessly in the top of the seventh holding L&L scoreless and setting up the AFR offense. Joe Crespo led off with walk and Tom Meyer battled from an 0-2 count to drill a double off the left center field fence to drive in the winning run. The game was typical of two good teams battling it out to the end showing drive and determination that we as coaches seek to instill inour players while exhibiting the exemplary sportsmanship.
