Kyle Anderson, Zach Arsenault, Connor Arsenault and Shane Haggerty combined for 5 shut out innings, 12 K's and only 2 hits allowed as Freedom Glass and Metal knocked off first place Burlington County Times, 4-3. Derek Silk also came up huge on the mound for the Marlins. Coming on in relief with the bases loaded and 2 outs in the 4th, Silk induced an inning ending groundout to preserve the one-run lead.
Trying to avenge a close loss to BCT earlier in the season, Freedom came out hacking, scoring 2 in the first and 3 in the 3rd led by Kyle Anderson's 2 hits and 3 RBI. As expected, both teams played well and it was a nail biter to the end.
Every player contributed to the win as Freedom parlayed stellar defense, timely hitting and strong pitching to even the season series at one game apiece. As usual, Tyler Arsenault was a star behind the plate for the Marlins, making several outstanding plays and handling the pitching staff like a seasoned pro. Josh Mitchell continued his hot hitting for the victors with a line drive single to right.
