Team effort win for Borden

On a great night for baseball, Borden Realty and Pro Computer Service battled a well played game, to a Borden 4-3 win. This game featured good pitching, good hitting, and good fielding by both teams. More evident in this game was the friendly competition, and great attitudes of all players.
From the very start, the Pro Computers Team strategy was evident...hit the ball to the guy with the cast on his arm! And they did...very well, successfully bunting in two runs. But Matt Heinkle accepted the challenge well, throwing 4 strong innings on the mound. A strong point of the defense continues to be the catchers. Tyler Sterner and George Rudderow refuse to allow past balls, which has kept a lot of base runners in place. Robbie Tait had a nice single and later scored. He also had a tremendous, diving effort on a long fly ball late in the game (got to love a player with blood on his pants!)
Scott Lattimer had two huge plays at shortstop in the 6th inning, and at the other end, Evan Okulanis played first base flawlessly.
Paul Maneri made a great catch on a long fly to right, had two key plays at second base later in the game, and had two RBI's in the game (great job Paul!).
Ok, it's 3-3 in the bottom of the 6th. Matt Heinkle comes to bat (after a contraversial at bat previously in the game), determined to get on base. He works the count to 2-2, then drives a line drive single to left. (can you hear the crowd?) In comes Bobby Schuck to run for the Cast-man. Bobby manages to steal 3 bases, to give Borden the 4-3 lead.
Shocker LaPierre stepped to the mound in th elast inning, and claimed the game ours by striking out 2 batters and leaving the tying run on third base. Electrifying!
