Borden Realty defeats Pro-Computer in Classic

Written by: Joe McGowan

Baseball with your buds, solid pitching, good fielding, fast running and good doesn't get any better! That describes the game between Borden Realty and Pro-Computer...and not just because we lost. It was a good game. Pro-Computer lost only its second game of the season in a tight 4 to 3 game. Ryan McGowan pitched 2 1/3 innings giving up 2 runs. A smooth move to second in the second picked off the lead runner and solid play by Matt Rosenfield, Matt Troost in the outfield kept the game close. Nothing got by the infielders Anthony Montefusco, Jimmy Guida, Kevin Wagner, Michael Kempton and Kevin Kempton. Michael Kempton pitched 2 1/3 solid innings giving up one run in the 5th. Kevin McDowell pitched in the 6th giving up only one hit. Despite strong fielding on well hit balls, one run scored on aggressive base running. Offensively, Pro-Computer put up three runs, with aggressive base running and near perfect bunting by Jimmy Guida, Matt Troost and Kevin Wagner. It was not enough. Great job by both teams.

In a related story, an un-named source confirmed hearing the coach admit that he should have hit-away instead of bunting on the final at bat. Film at 11.
