11-Year-Old Travel Baseball Tryouts
Parents and Ball Players:
Since there was not a true evaluation for the 11s interested in travel baseball due to a snow cancellation on February 24th, a new date and location has been setup. This evaluation is required due to the fact that so many 11s want to play travel baseball. Cutting kids from teams is not an option if there are enough players to fill rosters and coaches willing to take on the responsibility. There are approximately 34 11s thus far that have or want to play travel baseball. We will try to form 3 teams if possible and may need to recruit a few players that do not get this email or check the baseball website. The rosters will be set at 12 or 13 players per team. There will be an additional fee (yet determined) to supply shirts, hats, baseballs, and umpires. Most all games are played on Sunday afternoon and a few on Fridays under the lights.
EVALUATIONS- 11 TRAVEL BASEBALL
Shawnee High School Gymnasium
4:00 to 5:30 pm
Brian Anderson (Shawnee High School Head Baseball Coach) and his coaching staff along with current high school players will be assisting in the evaluation process.
Players will be evaluated on the observations of:
1. Throwing- accuracy, proper technique, and arm strength
2. Fielding- hand and foot technique, agility, consistency
3. Hitting- stance, grip, hands vs. arms, contact, and power
4. Attitude and Athleticism- hustle, game sense, and team play
Everyone player that wants to play on a travel team must attend this evaluation. If not in attendance, there is no guarantee of a spot on a specific team and possibly at all if the rosters fill up.
