To all MYAA Baseball Families;

Re: 2005 Baseball Season

MYAA Baseball wishes you all a happy and prosperous 2005!

With the New Year, believe it or not, comes the beginning of the baseball season. Before I get into the new season however, I want to thank all the commissioners, coaches, assistant coaches, players and parents for making the 2004 season a successful season. It takes a lot people working together to provide a fun and educational baseball program for our kids. For all of those who gave of their energy and time please give yourselves a pat on the back for a job well done.

Last year was my 1st year as commissioner and we had new commissioners at several of the age groups as well. We had a strong foundation to build from and we brought some new ideas we hoped would help make the program better. We had some great successes and we had some shortcomings. Two of the successes were the website ( and the changes in the rookie league. Two areas we can get better on are; making the league more fun and challenging for players of all skill level, and the scheduling of concession stand help. We will work on both of these areas and communicate our plans during the upcoming months.

As I stated above the 2005 season is upon us. Walk-up registration at Cranberry Pines School begins 22 January, continues on the 25th and concludes on the 29th. This year we are looking into on-line registration and hope to have that up by the 15th of the January. Discounted registration fees will be through the month of January. So if you walk-up at any of the three sessions at Cranberry Pines or you register on line before January 31, 2005 you will receive the $25 discount. The full registration fee will be required for online registration after January 31 or mailed in registration forms.

In the planning stages are player evaluation mid-to-late February for all ages 7 through 15; winter training sessions in mid-February through to mid-March; coaches training session late-February. Tentatively the season will run from April 16 through June 18. One new idea we are excited about is an Awards Banquet. We are in the planning stages to have an awards banquet on Sunday June 19. The idea is to have a fun afternoon where we celebrate the season and recognize those teams and players who reached the highest levels of their age groups.

Please keep checking the website for more information.
