Medford 12U won the district championship on Saturday Morning. After going undeafeated and reaching the championship round they lost Friday night to force the "if needed" game. They came back strong to squeeze out victory and move onto the state championships starting next Friday.

Eric Sellito - tournament MVP led the way with his 4th home run of the tournament and three outstanding innings on the mound. Kevin Wagner came in for relief pitched three strong innings. The whole team deserves three cheers and their support in Gibbsboro/Voorhees next week.

Other victors this weekend included MYAA 9U distrcit team which came back from the clutches of defeat to win on Friday night in the bottom of the 6th with a clutch triple by Jarret DeHart. Saturday they won again - a little more easily as they defeated Taberncale's 9U team 20-7.

Our 2nd 9U team won 2 games in another tournament this weekend with 2 more games to play on Sunday.

The 11U District team started off strong with a 10-0 defeat of Pemberton on Friday, but faltered with a 9-5 loss at the hands of Sacred Heart on Saturday.

Medford fans were able to enjoy back to back (literally) games as the 14U team defeated Sacred Heart's 14U team at the same time as the 11U were playing on fields backing up to each other. Medford broke open the game with a big inning in the 3rd batting around and scoring 9 runs. Brett Knazek's bases loaded single down the 1st base line was the big hit that opened the gates.

The 11U and 14U continue their trips through the brackets this weekend and into next week. The 9U have Sunday off and play again on Monday night. Please go out and support our players and our teams.

P.S. - We need some help hosting our tournament, so far the volunteer turnout has been small. We need help in the concession stand, with the fields, scorekeeping. Whether the team is your son's age or not please be supportive and help us put on a tournament we all can be proud of.
