Kids Cuts Come Up Just Short in Great Come Back

Written by: Abner Doubleday's Ghost

The Kids Cuts kids showed they had more heart in their little bodies than a bull elephant on steroids, coming back from a 13-2 deficit to come up just short, 13-12, to a hard hitting American Honda squad.

The boys looked a tad tired the first two and a half innings, quickly falling behind 13-2, but decided pride wouldn't let them go down without a fight. Sparked by Austin Charles' bases empty home run in the bottom of the third, the kids got their bats on, scoring four more in the inning, behind solid hitting from Colin Koos, Kevin Kennedy, Colin White, Ryan Buck, Luke Cooper, and Michael Armbruster.

The top of the fourth saw the kids waking up in the field, fired up by a backward sumersault catch at third by Austin Charles, and rock solid defense by Kyle Farley, Travis Lindaberry, Ryan Buck, Colin Koos, and Colin White getting the kids into the bottom of the fourth quickly.

The pride of the bottom of the order showed through in the fourth, as Brandon Farley and Anthony Digneo connected for clutch hits when the kids needed them most.

It was back out in the field, with Luke Cooper again helping the boys hold American Honda scorless with clutch play at first base.

The bottom of the fifth saw the kids down by six, but Luke Majewski got the boys rolling with a single, followed by the top of the oder to bring in five more runs and bring the kids to within one run of tying. A close call at first slowed the drive, and the game ended two batters later on a close play at second base.

The Kids showed they don't give up. Anybody can ride the top of the wave when they're winning, but it takes a real man to dig out from the sand on the bottom of the ocean after the wave drags you under.

The kids had a great season, played well, learned a lot, improved by leaps and bounds and should be very, very proud of themselves.

Jonathan, the boys all hope you're enjoying your vaction, and they were sorry you weren't there today and last night.
