THE 10U MEDFORD RENEGADES OPENED THE TSE TOURNAMENT WITH A DOMINANT 10-0 WIN AGAINST THE MAYS LANDING MUCKDAWGS ON A WINDY FRIDAY NIGHT IN BERLIN. ALEC BALTZ WAS PERFECT IN 3 INNINGS AS HE LED THE TEAM TO VICTORY WITH 8 STRIKEOUTS WHILE STEALING 3 BASES (INCLUDING HOME), SCORING 2 RUNS, AND HITTING A BOMB OVER THE LEFT FIELDER'S HEAD. JIMMY GALENO CLOSED THE GAME BY ALLOWING NO HITS IN THE FINAL INNING WHILE SMASHING A BOMB OF HIS OWN TO THE FENCE IN LEFT. THE TEAM DISPLAYED SOLID DEFENSE BEHIND MATT ABRAMS AT 2B AND LUKE MCGINLEY AT SS WHO COMBINED FOR 3 STRAIGHT PUTOUTS ON TOUGH PLAYS WITH THE GAME ON THE LINE.  THE OFFENSE WAS LED BY LUKE ROONEY WHO EXECUTED A NEARLY PERFECT SUICIDE SQUEEZE, FOLLOWED BY CHARLIE HYNES AND NICK DITTMAR WHO LED THE TEAM WITH TWO HITS APIECE. JAKE KENNEALY AND JIMMY GALENO LED THE TEAM WITH 2 RBI APIECE, WHILE MATT ABRAMS DROVE IN A KEY RUN EARLY IN THE GAME WITH A LINE DRIVE UP THE MIDDLE. DANNY DERUS SCORED TWO RUNS WHILE TYING A CAREER HIGH WITH 1 STOLEN BASE, AND DANTE POZZI EXTENDED HIS HITTING STREAK TO 2 GAMES WITH ANOTHER SMASH TO THE OUTFIELD. "I THINK I SAW NOAH MALGIER DANCING LIKE A MONKEY IN THE OUTFIELD", COMENTED NICK TAMBURRO, WHO WAS LAST SEEN ATTEMPTING TO EAT ALL OF THE LEFTOVER DOLLAR DOGS AT THE SNACK STAND.
