10U Renegades Shut Out Seneca War Eagles

Written by: Jim Tamburro

The 10U Renegades continue to improve as they shut out the Seneca War Eagles 7-0 on the road Sunday. Starter Luke Rooney hurled 3 masterful innings allowing just 2 hits and no walks. Jimmy Galeno followed up with 2 shutout innings of his own, setting the stage for Danny Derus who closed the game out with a perfect final inning. The offense was relentless, led by a long triple by Nick Dittmar  a Jake Kennealy double to the fence and a Dante Pozzi smash down the line for another double. Matt Abrams, Tommy Cahill and Noah Malgier keyed the scoring with some clutch hits, while Luke Mcginley, Jimmy Galeno and Alec Baltz drove in runs in a well balanced attack. "Pitching was the key today" said manager Tamburro, "our entire pitching staff has been working hard to improve location and off-speed options, and it paid off." Nick Tamburro played a critical role in keeping score while recuperating from a broken thumb, and added "I can't wait to get back in there and help these monkeys win! This cast is driving me nuts!" The Renegades face some tough competition in the upcoming TSE tournament this weekend, so come out and support them in Berlin.
