The Stone Masons Reds carried their end of the regular season momentum into the first round of the playoffs and came away with a 9-5 win over the fightin Pagliuso Phillies. The victory was the result of what has become a trademark for the Reds over the latter part of the 2005 season: outstanding pitching, timely hitting and solid defense.

Reds pitchers Andrew B., Frankie H. and Michael R. combined for 9 K's while giving up only 4 walks. The bottom half of the batting order, led by Zack F. Frankie H., Zac F. Ryan M., Scott R. and Robert H., produced 5 runs to the winning cause. Josh B. and Eric M. led the Reds assualt with 2 hits apiece and scored 3 of the Reds' runs. An outstanding defensive effort was turned in by Zac B., Josh B., Eric M., Michael R. and Andrew B. to provide the last component of the winning combination.

The Reds now advance to Round 2 of the Minor League-American Championship series and a date with Kazmierski DMD, the regular season champions.
