Borden-9 Pemberton-6

Written by: Skip Rudderow
Sunday, May 8, 2005

Aggressive base running was needed for our team to stay one step ahead of Pemberton. Starting pitcher Evan Okulanis had two hits and threw strong, striking out 8 batters in 5 innings. Brendan Mahan had three hits to lead the way at the plate, and Robbie Tait go on twice and scored twice. After taking a blazing ball into his chest while stealing, Joey Birmingham played strong defensively, along with Paul Maneri at third. Anthony Casciotta (filling in), and Bobby Schuck contributed to the team, getting on base and scoring. Brant Jestes played well defensively and also got on base which led to a run. George Rudderow came in relief of Evan for the 6-7 innings, and got their version of King Kong to hit into a double play in which Brendan made a hugh play at third, then threw to Evan at first for the double play. Paul Maneri threw out a runner at third to end the game... we win! Good job guys!
