Written by: Tom Conners
Saturday, April 30, 2005

Three Sander, Hannye & Carson Cardinals combined for 13 strikeouts in a 7-3 win over the Dr. Mark Kazmierski Royals.
The game began as a pitchers duel between the Cardinals' Chris Vaughan (3 Ks) and the Royals' Tyler Kaiser (2 Ks). Each pitcher ended their two innings of work with no runs allowed.
In the middle 2 innings the pitching battle continued as Cardinal Will Stiles (6Ks) battled Wes Hofner (5Ks). The score after 4 was 2-2.
The Cardinals' bats came alive in the top of the 5th as 4 Cardinals crossed the plate. In the 6th Chris Vaughan added an exciting solo inside the park home run (to go along with 2 other hits) for the 7th run.
Will Stiles also had three hits for the winners. Ryan Brunetti, Joe Tucci, Anthony Papasso and William Beighley also hit safely for the Cardinals. Cardinal Bradford Conners drew 2 walks, scored a run and stole 4 bases.
Anthony "Closer" Papasso pitched the last 2 innings (4 Ks) to nail down the win.
