The first game of the new season ended in a 7-7 tie between Nicklebee's Yankees and Mark Kazmierski Royals. The Yanks battled back from a late inning 1 run deficit to plate the tying run in the top of the fifth. The Yankees held the Royals from scoring in the bottom of the inning and the game was called on the time limit rule. Both sides battled with solid defense and pitching.
This game was the official opening of the MYAA Baseball season. Walter Urban, the Mayor of Medford, threw out the ceremonial first pitch.
