Sellitto Leads Borden over Spott's

Written by: John Grady
Sunday, June 13, 2004

Anthony Sellitto went 4 for 4 with four runs batted in and struck out five in two innings on the mound as Borden defeated Spott's 10-7 Tuesday night. Borden also benefitted from a 2 for 2 with two walks from Shocker LaPierre, 2 rbi's from John Grady who also pitched two shut out innings allowing one hit. Eddie Enriquez had a hit and an rbi and Ryan Welsey was an excellent lead off hitter on base three times and scoring each time. Aside from Jeff Currie who unfortunately suffered a first inning injury every Borden player reached base.

Borden's center fielders all prefer to play shortstop and play the outfield as if it were the infield. Sellitto retired a batter from center field on what appeared to be a clean single up the middle. John Montemurro, normally a shortstop/center fielder caught two innings and threw out a runner stealing at third.

Borden with a league best 10-1-1 record closes the regular season saturday night against Pemberton.
